Who will create the portable device platform of the future?

What happened to Microsoft, do they have a 100.000 sleeping software developers without any imagination ? Yes, everybody is smarter if you can look back.

After i watched the presentation of the new iphone 3.0 version, i understood that the iphone started as a nice, well done phone, but they have the real potential to make it the portable device platform. I don’t think it will become market dominant, it is to expensive and too closed. All the old Mobile-Phone producer are excluded.

I just hope there won’t be any monopole like we still see it in the pc-market.

ubiquity - the best i have seen for a while

What is ubiquity?

  • first, it is a add-on for firefox in a very early beta
  • it is a shortcut to all the webservices you use in your everyday live

Where can i find it?

Same nice examples (you start ubiquity within firefox with a shortcut, i use CMD-U on mac):

  • add-to-calendar meeting with my computer tommorow at 12pm
  • email i love you to mygirl@love.com, open google mail with text and email set
  • map berlin alexanderplatz, gives you a google map of the location
  • twitter “i love ubiquity” , twitters your message
  • translate “same chines select text on website”
  • tab “search in all open tabs” and switch to the tab which matches
